Registration for Spring & Summer courses is now open!

  • We are the University of Lethbridge Conservatory of Music: a music school located in downtown Lethbridge (in Casa) made up of highly trained musicians from the U of L Department of Music and local distinguished musicians.
  • We offer music lessons to anyone of any age and level.
  • We have many music classes available for all skill levels and instruments, from Kindermusik for babies to our Young Artists Music Academy.

We have 5 age-specific choirs, starting at age 5, that rehearse at Casa throughout the school year. We are guided by a simple philosophy that fine choral music can be achieved through practice and commitment, and that singing should ultimately be a joyful experience.

Our drumming ensembles introduce youth (ages 7-9 yrs and 10+) to our authentic collection of world percussion instruments. Held in downtown Lethbridge (at Casa), most of our drumming ensembles are non-auditioned and run in the early evenings throughout the semester. We also have an auditioned elite percussion group (WHIP – We Hit It Percussion) that focuses on percussion music covering all genres from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Caribbean Rhythms.

We have everything from an adult fiddling class, suzuki group violin classes, to 2 string orchestras (Stringendo and Sinfonia Allegro). We offer something for all ages and levels. We also recommend private lessons as a co-requisite to our string classes and ensembles.

YAMA is an intensive, enriching performance-based program available to teenaged classical instrumentalists, percussionists, pianists, guitarists and vocalists. It includes several activities per week that aim to expand the awareness, skills and experiences of the classical musician. This program will optimize the success of our most dedicated and gifted young musicians. Do not register for this program until you have applied and passed an audition (403-329-2304 for info).
